Amel 'Beandoodle' Dockery

Amel Dockery (b. 2000) is a contemporary artist from Joliet, Illinois. She studied at the American Academy of Art College downtown Chicago. She graduated in the fall of 2023 from the American Academy of Art, with a Bachelors of Fine Arts specializing in watercolor painting.  

Amel is currently working as a full time teacher at KIPP Bold City PREP, yet still exploring mediums that allow her work to flow from two-dimensional to three-dimensional. Amel is an artist who is dedicated to capturing the beauty and complexity of Afrocentric and black features through her art.
